On the night of the election day, the results were announced internally  first. All 83 polling stations in Haarlemmermeer were shown on a map, which was displayed on a big screen in the foyer of the city hall. When the results of the election per polling station came in, the audience saw these polling stations changing colour from red into green. When the polling station became green, the number of votes per party was announced by clicking on the polling station. Furthermore, the total number of counted votes was displayed on the screen.
